Account deletion
Delete your GENO Steps account
You can request permanent deletion of your GENO Steps account and the personal data associated with it. The same option is available in the app under Profile > Security & Privacy > Delete account.
What gets deleted
- Account details such as email, name, country, age, and weight on file.
- Your profile picture and profile fields.
- Step samples, daily totals, sync records, and device push-notification tokens.
- Your participation in step competitions, including leaderboard entries linked to you.
- Competitions you created where no other participant has joined.
What may be kept
- Competitions with other participants may remain so those participants can keep their challenge history. Your personal details are removed or anonymized from those records.
- Aggregate, non-personal records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance.
Retention period
After you submit a deletion request, your account is soft-deleted for 30 days. During that window you can restore it by signing in again. After 30 days, the data listed above is permanently removed from GENO systems.
Request deletion
Enter the email address you use for GENO Steps. This submits a request to the GENO admin team. We may contact you if we need to verify ownership before completing deletion.
You can also request deletion by emailing privacy@genoessence.com. We process manual deletion requests within 7 business days.
